Life tends to keep us in a constant state of craziness. At any unforeseen moment, many of us are faced with illness. The world keeps moving at an unstoppable pace. Yet, we are left standing alone facing unknown health outcomes. So… how does one find emotional healing? How do we nurture ourselves?

Take time to reflect who you really are as a person. What is it that you would really like to accomplish during your lifetime? What would make you feel happy if there were no perceived barriers to accomplishing this? Learn to listen to your intuition when it comes to what personally makes you feel hopeful and nurtured. You are the only one that truly knows what is needed to accomplish this. Lastly, being open to accepting random acts of kindness from others can provide a sense of support when life seems overwhelming.

Sharing ones humanity can be healing to everyone involved.

Prior to my diagnosis with breast cancer I had been under tremendous stress. I lost my best friend, my son, and my mother in the same year. Look in the mirror daily and tell yourself, “I am healed”! I have been cancer free for nearly twenty years and am doing the work that God has called me to do. Know this — You are the healed!
