“The ironic timing of my cancer diagnosis was that I was finishing physical therapy school when I was diagnosed.  I had to do scar tissue management on myself and had to rebuild my body on my own, because I was never offered rehab services.  Now, as a survivor and a PT who works with cancer survivors, I know how important it is to have cancer rehab as part of a patient’s plan of care.  If we want to optimize a survivor’s quality of life and ability to return to life, cancer rehab has to be a part of the plan.”
